Weight loss is self-deprivation. Maintenance is nourishment.
Weight loss is burning calories. Maintenance is building strength and capacity.
Weight loss is escaping harsh reality. Healthy lifestyle is pursuing hope.
The actions may be the same but the intent is very different.
We always quote Nietzsche’s “he who has a sufficient why can bear any how.”
