I looked at states that would contrast more like Maine and Wisconsin, but their populations were pretty low in the range of this set. I decided to go with Virginia, because it has a democratic governor, and it’s proximity to these states make it less prone to the states leading the charge to “liberate” from pandemic safety guidelines.
The graphs: I decided to go with average cases and average new deaths so that the average -14 day case fatality rate can be extracted from them. Key is that these graphs are scaled to the highlighted data.
I’ve just started to work with the average CFR -14 days, but my suspicion is that where it’s over 3.3%, the virus is not being managed well in your area.
